Work with us. Live your purpose. Make a real difference.
As an Anglicare Chaplain or Pastoral Carer, you’ll provide spiritual support and compassionate care for Anglicare staff, residents, clients and (where possible) their families. As a committed Christian, your every interaction will be guided by prayer and Godly wisdom.
In addition to spending one-on-one time with individuals, you may also be responsible for running a range of pastoral care activities, including a weekly church service. Experience or training in pastoral care, ministry and / or theology are requirements for these roles.
Your primary role as a Pastoral Carer is to provide spiritual and emotional support to older persons in your community. You might work in a residential aged care home, retirement village, or visit with Anglicare At Home clients who still live independently at home. As you build relationships with those you serve, their care workers and their families, you’ll learn to personalise the support your offer according to each individuals needs and preferences.
As an Anglicare Chaplain, you’ll provide spiritual leadership. You might work with older persons and clients across Anglicare’s range of aged care services. However, Anglicare also employs justice chaplains who specialise in prison ministry and hospital chaplains who minister to patients and their families through illness and grief. All Anglicare Chaplains are Ordained or Licensed Lay Ministers.
